1200 sq. ft space with chairs on risers and theatrical lighting hanging Dog Story Theater, a non-profit organization, has partnered with Third Coast Development to open a brand-new black box theater in downtown Grand Rapids. The new theater, located near Plainfield and Leonard, enables and supports professional-quality, innovative entertainment and offers an affordable and flexible venue for live performances.

A colorfully-dressed group of actors in an intimate performance space Dog Story Theater does not produce its own shows; artists rent the space to produce their own performances. The flexible venue provides a quality, intimate experience for all forms of entertainment. We host plays, music, films, live comedy and multimedia performances. We're always looking to explore more configurations and uses for the space.

If you would like to rent the theater for your own event, please contact booking@dogstorytheater.com. Pricing depends on a lot of factors, including what night(s) you would like to book and how many.

Our primary goal is to enable artists to find a performance venue which is a good fit and where they can make some money on a successful production. Our board of directors is made up of well-connected veterans of the Grand Rapids artistic community; even if we can't find a pricing plan at Dog Story Theater that works for you, we'll do everything we can to connect you with a venue more suited to your needs. We want to hear about your project!
